Strength coaching in Tampa.
Squat, bench and deadlift coaching with a coach in the room. Same Strength First Periodization that built a 518 lb bench at 220 lb bodyweight — applied to you, rep by rep, anywhere in the Tampa Bay area.
Lifters who'd rather get strong than chase trends.
Getting strong for the first time
Learn to brace, squat, bench and deadlift with a coach watching every rep — the fastest way to build technique you won't have to unlearn.
Masters lifters, 40s to 60s+
Clients over 50 are squatting 225+. Loading is adjusted to recovery, joints and history — not copied from a 22-year-old's program.
Powerlifters & meet prep
Peaking, attempt selection and meet-day handling. Bench specialists especially — this program built a 518 lb bench at 220.
Stuck lifters
Years of training, numbers that won't move. AMRAP-driven progression finds where you actually are and builds from there.
Why in person
Video review catches a lot. A coach standing next to the bar catches more — bracing, setup, bar path and the small cues that turn a grinder into a clean rep. In-person sessions are where technique gets built fastest.
Same system, either way
Every Tampa client runs the same Strength First Periodization as the online roster: 4–5 week blocks, AMRAP-driven loading and a training log that tracks every set. Train in person, online, or a mix of both.

Tampa coaching FAQ.
Do you coach in person in Tampa?
Yes. Chalk & Iron is based in Tampa, FL and coaches lifters in person across the Tampa Bay area, alongside online clients worldwide. Pick "In person" on the application and we'll work out where and when.
What does strength coaching cost?
Two plans: Coaching at $200/month and Elite at $300/month. Both run on the same Strength First Periodization methodology — Elite adds more touchpoints, form review on every working set, bar-speed work and event-day handling.
Is this personal training or powerlifting coaching?
It's strength coaching — built around the squat, bench press and deadlift. You don't need to compete. Most clients just want to get strong on purpose; some are prepping for a meet.
I'm over 50. Is this for me?
Yes. Masters lifters are a big part of the roster, and the programming adjusts to recovery and injury history week to week.
Can I start in person and move to online later?
Yes. The methodology and the training log are the same either way, so you can switch formats without starting over.
